The Renaissance process is about...
Thanks Dr. Baggett for the kind words of support!Effective teachers understand the importance of a name. You realize that personal attention begins with a personal salutation. To you, students are not anonymous entities. You seek to affirm the student for his/her individual worth and by doing so, you let them know that they truly belong – that they are more than eight-to-three residents in some netherworld of a small desk.
To paraphrase Thomas Carlyle, “Great teachers show their greatness by the way they treat their students.” You are teachers that have come to realize that a pat on the back has enough force to propel a student toward excellence. I thank you and congratulate you for the successful start and for being an effective teacher leader sending the message that [our schools] are “CARING, COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROVIDING EVERY CHILD EVERY CHANCE FOR SUCCESS!”Keep-on-Keeping-on throughout this year and beyond…
This is exactly what our Renaissance process is all about. It is about recognizing every student for his/her individual worth and letting them know that they truly belong in our schools. It’s the pat on the back that Carlyle and you speak of and more…
Once again, thanks for the kind words of support and thanks for supporting the Renaissance process…
Warm Regards,
William Bishop (Bill)

First Day Assembly
Renaissance Club.
The president of our Renaissance Club also spoke and recognized the clubs officers and introduced our Renaissance theme for the year.
The theme this year is THIS IS OUR NOW. It is in alignment with our previous theme RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE and the theory of carpe diem.
At Haleyville High School we want our students to seize every opportunity to be successful academically and as citizens right here, right now. After all, THIS IS OUR NOW and when it's gone it’s gone.
*Suzanne Burleson took the above pictures.
Warm Regards,

Our Renaissance Blog
Welcome to the Haleyville High School Renaissance Blog. Why have a Renaissance blog? Because blogging is cool. More importantly, our students are important to us at Haleyville High School and we believe in all of them and want them to be successful academically and in life.

Additionally, Mr. O'rear the Elementary Principal in our system with the help of some wonderful teachers, parents, and students presented for the first time at the National Conference. He did a wonderful job and plans to do even more with the process this year with the help of his faculty, staff, and student leaders. We hope to do the same at the High School.
